American bakeries range from wholesale operations that supply restaurants to neighborhood shops that sell bread, pastries, cookies and cakes over the counter, and many of them also pour coffee. Bagel shops boil and bake on site and sell out of favorite flavors by late morning; donut shops open before dawn and are often family-run; patisseries and cake studios take custom orders for weddings and birthdays and usually need one to two weeks' notice. Ice cream parlors, gelato shops and frozen yogurt bars are seasonal in the northern states and year-round in the South and on the West Coast. Prices are posted per item, by the dozen or by the pound, and most shops now take cards and mobile payment.

Seal Beach is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Seal Beach follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Tears in my eye watching the youtube just now, with people helping buying donuts to contribute to the sick owner. The hardworking owner and loyal and happy customers are literally what community is all about. I will definitely visit and buy a dozen as well!

Discovered a new favorite local gem at Donut City on PCH nearby Main Street. A perfect beachside stop to fuel up for the day. Our little one loved the sprinkle donut, while we enjoyed the ham croissant, jalapeño croissant, and delicious coffee—the matcha and brown sugar shaken espresso were excellent . The owners were friendly, welcoming, and created such a great community feel. We’ll definitely be back!

My last visit to this place was a bit shady. I’m not sure when the new owner took over but anyways they open at 5am so I’m usually there a little bit after, since I go into work around 5am. I bought a dozen donuts and 6 croissants, the total on the register says $51. I was paying with my card so he turned the tablet towards me and told me just tap and proceed to help the next customer. I tapped and waited until the screen shows everything went through. At the end it says I paid $70??!?!!? He then said oh it might’ve been the total for the last customer and gave me cash from the register really quick. As if he knew what he did. ??? I asked a few friends that works near that donut shop if they experience any shady transactions when paying with a card and one of them said they did noticed the total amount was different when they paid with a card. If you guys go to this place, either pay cash or be careful paying a card. You might get ripped off. Very sad, espcially how nice the previous owners were.

I've lived in Seal for a dozen years and today was my first time checking them out. I bought a dozen for a meeting tonight. Service was great and the gentleman were very helpful and friendly. I got a coffee and a fritter to go which I enjoyed very much! When I arrived it was clear they were upgrading the shop both inside and outside. Nice changes underway!
